Itinerary Overview (7 Days)

This schedule is tight but doable — designed for travellers who prefer to see the highlights without long multi-day gaps. Important: Amritsar leg uses a mix of train (recommended: Shatabdi/Vande Bharat) and local cab for Wagah/Golden Temple transfers; the rest of the trip is by private cab for comfort and flexibility.

Amritsar Notes — train + cab mix

Train: We recommend the Shatabdi (or Vande Bharat when available) for Delhi ↔ Amritsar for speed, comfort and onboard service. Plan transfers from Hotel Aerocity Purple Orchid to New Delhi Railway Station (allow 45–60 minutes depending on traffic).

Local cab: For Wagah Border, Golden Temple transfers and airport/station pickups, we use local/private cabs. Wagah is ~28–32 km from central Amritsar (~45–60 minutes depending on traffic).

Tip: Book train seats early and request morning departure from Delhi so you get more time in Amritsar the arrival day.

FAQ

Can the Amritsar leg be done entirely by car?

Yes — but it will add travel time. The train is faster and more comfortable. We recommend Shatabdi or Vande Bharat to save energy and enjoy onboard service.

Is one night in Amritsar enough?

Yes. One night covers Wagah Border and both night & morning Golden Temple visits. Add one more night if you want food tours or slow-paced exploration.

What is the ideal travel season for this 7-day tour?

October to April offers pleasant weather. Summers (May–June) are hot, especially in Rajasthan, while July–September is monsoon season.

How far in advance should I book hotels & travel?

Book at least 3–6 months in advance for the best availability and rates during the high season (Oct–Mar).

Is it safe to travel as a solo woman on this route?

Yes. The Golden Triangle and Amritsar are popular routes with good infrastructure. Use registered taxis, inform your hotel of plans, and dress modestly at religious sites.

Can I drink tap water during the tour?

No — always use bottled or filtered water. Avoid ice and fresh juices made with unfiltered water.

Will I face language barriers?

No — English and Hindi are widely spoken. Hotel, driver, and guide staff are used to helping international travelers.

Is haggling acceptable in Indian markets?

Yes — polite bargaining is expected in local bazaars. Keep it friendly and avoid pushing for unrealistic prices.

Can I see all major monuments in 7 days?

Yes. This itinerary includes highlights of Delhi, Amritsar, Agra, and Jaipur without feeling rushed, though a second night in Jaipur gives extra breathing room.

Are night visits allowed at the Taj Mahal?

Yes — during full moon nights (and two days before & after), you can book night viewing slots. Limited tickets are available, so book early.

How long is travel between cities?

Approximate travel times: Delhi → Agra: 3–4 hrs, Agra → Jaipur: 4–5 hrs, Jaipur → Delhi: 5–6 hrs, Delhi → Amritsar (by train): 6 hrs.

What cultural etiquette should I follow?

Dress modestly, remove shoes at temples, cover your head in gurdwaras, and avoid public displays of affection. Use your right hand when offering or receiving items.
